ARSA: Analyzed RadioSoundings Archive Version imprimable

The ARSA database has been established at Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique (LMD), starting from observations by worlwide distributed radiosonde stations, which are combined with surface and other auxiliary observations. The current ARSA database cover the 1989-2010 period and is maintained and continuously updated at LMD by the ABC(t)/ARA group.

 Access to the database

The ARSA Database is available as a freeware product but only for academic use and to every one willing to use the code for scientific research. To obtain a copy of the latest release of the database, please complete the ‘Licence Agreement’ using the ‘ARSA database Online registration form’ available at http://ara.abct.lmd.polytechnique.fr/index.php?page=arsa . The Licence Agreement must be printed, signed and either faxed to +33.1.69.33.52.18 or sent to:

On receipt of the signed Licence Agreement, you will receive your login and password by email to access to the ARSA Database by ftp, on the IPSL ClimServ server (http://climserv.ipsl.polytechnique.fr ). The data will be then available at the following ftp address:

If you have an account on the Climserv server, you can access directly to the data on receipt on the signed Licence Agreement. The data are available in the following directory:
