Dataset Title Ivittuut Observatory ICOS-ATC: In situ observations (Greenland)
Dataset Purpose The atmospheric observatory is running since autumn 2007. This is the only continuous atmospheric monitoring site in Greenland. It was chosen for its geographical positioning at mid-point between North America and Europe, therefore influenced by potentially polluted air masses coming from either continent but also because of its strategically positioning in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean.
Dataset Abstract This dataset is part of ICOS-ATC, the research station is located in south west Greenland and provides both continuous atmospheric observations and discontinuous flask measurements
Acquisition Methodology The ATC collects data from the ICOS atmospheric stations in near real time (24 hours or less). Data transfer between the stations and the ATC is usually organized over the Internet
