Dataset Title In situ measurements of atmospheric water vapour isotopes from different research stations
Dataset Purpose The web-Database purpose is to publish and share water vapour isotopes monitoring data.
Dataset Abstract This data base comprises datasets from different research stations and projects, all including water vapour isotopes measurements and precipitation
Acquisition Methodology The data sampling depends on the station. Each stations can belong to different projects and the measurements can be discontinuous or continuous. See Instrument description for further information about the acquisition methodology
Quality The quality depends on the site and instrument, for example for the NEEM site (North Greenland) the measurements are calibrated and validated (see Steen-Larsern, et al. 2013 for details). In the case of Ivittuut site (southeast Greenland) there were several problems that interrupted the water isotope monitoring (see Bonne, et al. 2013 (under review) for further information). Half of the measurements of that site have been validated.

Description The project is focusing on the climate in permafrost regions and pristine peatlands of Western Siberia. Its aims to investigate the water and carbon cycles in these regions and their projected changes under a warming climate. One of its specificity is the comprehensive use of the information that can be extracted from isotopic distributions both for water and carbon gases (CO2 and CH4), in the atmosphere, at the land surface, in the soil and vegetation, and in the permafrost. It will be based on an approach combining observations (using both surface measurements and satellite data), and modeling including atmospheric, land surface, and permafrost models that are or will be implemented with the various isotopic species of interest). Our research will be developed along three complementary axes that share an optimal use of the isotopic approach.
