Dataset Title MACCity project: global anthropogenic emissions inventory for year 1960 to 2020
Dataset Purpose In support of the fifth IPCC-AR5 (Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change Assessment Report 5), the ACCMIP (Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate - Model Intercomparison Project) historical emissions and the RCP (Representation Concentration Pathways) scenarios were developed in order to provide a consistent emission inventory through 1850-2100.
Dataset Abstract As part of MACC and CityZen EU projects, the ACCMIP and the RCP 8.5 emissions datasets have been extended on a yearly basis for the period 1960-2020 for the anthropogenic emissions, and 1960-2008 for the biomass burning emissions.
Acquisition Methodology ACCMIP MACCity anthropogenic emissions are linearly interpolated (for each sectoral layer and specie), for each year between ACCMIP and RCP8.5 base years (1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2020). The RCP 8.5 scenario emissions were used for years 2005, 2010 and 2020 since it includes some information on recent emissions at regional scale in Europe and North America. A seasonal cycle was applied for each sectoral layer, and the VOCs species emissions have been lumped to 21 species.
